Too heavy!

This boot is way too big and heavy for a toddler. My son (20 mons) could barely lift his leg with this boot on. They are very cute, but what’s the point of a rainboot if a boy can play with them on.
You might want to leave these boots outside for some time first

Hi,
We bought these to complete a firefighter costume for our son for Halloween.
They look great and our son loves them.
The little issue we had was the smell.
We had to leave them outside for few days because of their plastic smell.
Beware!!

These boots are really good quality, and my son LOVES them. They look great too. The bad news (for us anyway) is that they seem to run a bit large and are very heavy (due to thick, sturdy rubber soles on the bottom). They are a bit awkward for him to walk in, but he tries anyway. He mostly succeeds in getting where he wants to go in them on level surfaces, but everytime he lifts up his feet to go up steps or to climb up onto a seat, they fall off his feet. I am still rating these a 4 out of 5, because they are great boots… I am just hoping they are more practical for my son when he grows into them!

It’s shipped very quickly. They look very nice and cool. My boy put them on right away. With his western chief umbrella, he played dress-up.

I have bought these boot twice now and both times they came apart at the seams around the toes within 2 months of wear. We live in a mountain area that consists of some paved roads and some dirt. My son mostly wears them on walks or playing in the yard. He plays like any other 5 year old, but these shoes do not hold up. His friend also got a pair and they came apart in the same area. I love the design but will not purchase again do to the lack of durability.
Rubber disintegrates. Very dissappointed. Poor quality.

I’d give ‘em two stars ’cause my son liked ‘em a lot and they were good while they lasted…which wasn’t long enough. But I’m pretty peeved about the quality so they get one star.
With only occasional use they had completely disintegrated within a year. Rubber just cracked apart into a rotten mess. Totally unacceptable. Kids shoes should last to be hand-me-downs…especially if they aren’t everyday shoes.
I’m guessing most of the glowing reviews come from folks who have happy kids after owning them for two weeks.

My son is in love with all things fireman, and couldn’t be happier with the look of these boots. On the other hand, after about 3 months of wear (albeit constant), they have fallen apart. It’s really too bad – they are awfully cute.

My 3 year old son loves firefighters and so this gift way only fitting.He loves them and still plays with them weekly! I did order a size big cause i wanted them to be able to last him a long time. haven’t had any problems with the seams and such!

My son always wants to wear these boots. loves to puddle splash in them and they look so cute on him. He can also take them on and off himself. I took off one star because they fall off too easily.
I’d still buy them again.

Ok, my son wore them to death.
He also got the “Jr. Fire Fighter Suit with helmet”. That was a creat buy and 3 year of almost daily useage is still ok.

These boots look great when you first get them, but they don’t last very long at all. It was only a few months into wearing them when I realized that they came apart. They don’t just come apart a little, they come apart almost completely, at least to the point of them being some flaps of rubber held together here and there.
They split pretty much everywhere the black meets the yellow. It’s a real shame because they look like there nice, but you can’t always judge a boot by its looks, I guess.

We first got these boots for my [...]son for Easter and they split at the seam in about 1 month. Luckily this was just in time to have them replaced. Unfortunately after 6 months of wearing the replacements they too have multiple splits at the seams and several on top. However, I will say my son loves these boots and is disappointed that we can’t send them back to the Easter bunny again.

My 3 year old son loves fire fighters and fire engines and everything else associated with them. I knew that he of course wanted to be a fire fighter for Halloween so I got him these boots to go with his costume. He LOVES them!!! I like it because if he is going outside to play he can put them on himself and he is very happy to do it!! He does sometimes wear them when we go out somewhere. But he doesn’t raise too much fuss when we are going somewhere like church or out to eat and I want him to wear something else.

Although more expensive than a normal Halloween costume, the firefighter boots and outfit are well worth the money. They are made well and will last.

Really adorable as well as durable rain boots. Bought them to go along with my son’s Halloween costume. He loves them and I am quite sure he’ll get good use out them as rain boots as well.

These are great for light use — Halloween or maybe the dress up box. My son is 7. He was thrilled to get these. He’s into anything related to fire fighting. (Dad is a volunteer fire fighter, besides.) He needed boots so we bought these. Then bought the rain coat and matching helmet so he would look like daddy in his turn out gear. He is very responsible especially with things he treasures, but guess what? Within a month the sole had separated from the rest of the boot. We got a cute jacket and hat we don’t really need and a little boy who is very disappointed.

I was sorely disappointed in these rainboots. My little fella loves all things firehouse-related and was thrilled when he saw them under the Christmas tree. I expected that for the money paid, they would be well-made and last a good long time. Within a few monthes they were splitting across the tops of the boots. He still wants to wear them but they are of course, not waterproof now. I had purchased a pair of rain boots for my daughter from Old Navy and they survived without damage for years. I will not purchase Western Chief rain boots again.

I bought these boots, along with an entire fireman’s outfit, for my 3 year old. I puts them on all the time and loves them. They seem well made as it has been 2 months and they are in good shape. They look and feel real (even the box looks right.
My only minor negative comment about the boots (and the fireman outfit too) is they are not reflective like real FD equipment (which doesn’t matter to him but if you are making fireman stuff why not go all out. . .)

My son wore these for Halloween and it really made his fire fighter jacket and helmet look more authentic. He loves these boots. The straps are a nice feature and they are durable. The sizing seems accurate. As far as the number significance, it is a sensitive subject that I don’t think small children need to be informed about.

I purchased these boots for my grandson for his 4th birthday, and he loves them. He has always wanted to be a fireman and loves dressing up in his whole outfit. The boots are very durable and comfortable. They make great rainboots. I like the fact that the 343 firemen who were lost on 9-11 are being honored and remembered by everyone who purchases these items. It’s also a way to let little boys know how important these men were.
