Unbearable smell
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought these boots for my 3 year old, they looked very cute on the picture. When we received them though we realized that their smell was unbearable so I complained to the seller. This was not just the typical "rubber" smell, it was more like the burning tire kind of stench. My daughter wouldn't even go near them... I was told that it is expected for rain boots that have been recently manufactured to have that smell and that I should place them outdoors and use Fabreeze or some other spray. I am not sure why they don't do all this before they sell them, people buy rain boots to wear them outdoors not to leave them outdoors. Plus, I have bought rain boots before and never had this "stinking" issue. Anyway, we did leave them outside for 3 nights and the smell remained the same. I finally decided to return them and the seller will not pay for shipping because it is not considered a "defect" from their end. They probably haven't tried to wear their products or put them in their homes or worse, have their children wear them. This was probably my worst Amazon shopping experience ever.
There should be a disclaimer that the smell may kill you before you go out in the rain...
